150 Angus feeder steers (1 mark) Oct/Nov 22 drop that are vendor bred in Tasmania. Cattle were sent to Jugiong in early February given the extremely dry conditions, however the cattle have experienced fluctuating feed availability with rain being sparse. Cattle were Bovilis treated 24/4 and weighed while in the yards. From that date cattle have been on a rising plain of nutrition and its anticipated a 0.5kg gain will be achieved per day up until delivery (visually showing good improvement). Given the steers have a 4 hr walk to yards cattle will be yarded the night before delivery placed on hay and weighed full less 5%. These cattle have been coming to mainland feedlots for many years with good results.
